چکیده

Recently, sub-Nyquist sampling of wideband signals has gained much attention in wireless communications. One of the main reasons for this popularity is the reduction in energy consumption in the ADCs. In this paper, we present an overview of the best known non-uniform sub-Nyquist sampling techniques and the associated spectral analysis. Spectral analysis using sub-Nyquist samples can be done in two ways. We can reconstruct the original Nyquist samples from the sub-Nyquist samples and then by using Fourier transform we can obtain the estimated power spectral density using classical methods like Welch method. We can also obtain the power spectral estimate directly from the sub-Nyquist samples without reconstructing the Nyquist samples. Both approaches can be used based on the application.

The Sample Allocation Problem and Non-Uniform Compressive Sampling

This paper discusses sample allocation problem (SAP) in frequency-domain Compressive Sampling (CS) of timedomain signals. An analysis that is relied on two fundamental CS principles; the Uniform Random Sampling (URS) and the Uncertainty Principle (UP), is presented. We show that CS on a singleand multi-band signals performs better if the URS is done only within the band and suppress the out-ban...

Analysis of Non-uniform Sampling Effects in Sigma-Delta Modulated Signals

Ahsfruct-The effects of non-uniform sampling in the EA-modulated DAC are discussed in this paper. The non-uniform sampling of the EA-modulated signals causes in-hand noise in the DAC, which will be compared with the harmonic distortions in switched capacitor circuit and the that due to the signal-dependent nonlinearity in the 1-hit DAC. We describe an error-driven edgeselection ulgorithm that s...

RIP Analysis of Modulated Sampling Schemes for Recovering Spectrally Sparse Signals

— In this work, we analyze modulated sampling schemes, such as the Nyquist Folding Receiver, which are highly efficient, readily implementable, non-uniform sampling schemes that allows for the blind estimation of a narrow-band signal's spectral content and location in a wide-band environment. This non-uniform sampling, achieved by narrow-band modulation of the RF instantaneous sample rate, resu...

Complete Identification of Permissible Sampling Rates for First-Order Sampling of Multi-Band Bandpass Signals

The first-order sampling of multi-band bandpass signals with arbitrary band positions is considered in this paper. Gaps between the spectral sub-bands are utilized to achieve lower sampling rates than the Nyquist. The lowest possible sampling rate along with other permissible sampling rates is identified via a unique partition of the frequency axis. With the complete identification of all the p...
